SYNOPSIS

Organizations face constant threats from files entering through various channels—email, removable devices (e.g., USB drives), FTP transfers, web downloads, and more. Files sent by clients, suppliers, and external parties can carry hidden risks, and it's often unclear whether they are entirely safe. Hackers are keenly aware that organizations cannot easily block these entry points, which makes file-based attacks a favored method of compromise. Although cybersecurity tools are designed to intercept viruses and malware entering the network, some malicious code is sophisticated enough to evade detection.

In this session, our guest speaker from Israel will discuss a critical yet often overlooked issue in cybersecurity: the over-reliance on detection-based solutions. Despite significant investments by CIOs and CISOs in these tools, security breaches continue to occur, exposing the limitations of traditional approaches. The speaker will delve into the key difference between active, independent prevention strategies, such as Content Disarm and Reconstruction (CDR), and detection-based models that rely on identifying threats after the fact.

Through this discussion, the speaker will highlight how detectionless technologies, like CDR, provide an effective line of defense, proactively neutralizing file-based threats before they can inflict harm. By focusing on prevention rather than detection, organizations can greatly enhance their security posture and protect critical networks from emerging threats.

This session will provide actionable insights on how to implement a prevention-first cybersecurity strategy to stay ahead of ever-evolving file-based attacks.
