SYNOPSIS

The ISC2 Singapore Chapter is pleased to host HashiCorp and IBM Guardium for a session exploring the practical challenges of modern cryptographic governance in the quantum era.

This technical session aims to provide members with a clear-eyed view of the end-to-end cryptography challenge facing today's enterprises — and the tools available to address it.

OVERVIEW

The challenge: Are your applications still running on outdated or unsafe algorithms? Is your team buried in security firefights instead of focused on what drives the business? Today's CISOs face mounting pressure to modernise cryptographic infrastructure without disrupting the applications that depend on it.

HashiCorp Vault sits at the centre of modern cryptographic operations — centrally managing encryption keys, secrets, PKI, and SSH credentials so your applications consistently use safe, modern cryptography across the enterprise. We will go deeper into how Vault is applying post-quantum cryptography to its encryption engine, what is emerging in the quantum space, and how crypto agility lets you rotate algorithms without re-architecting applications.

Complementing this, IBM Guardium provides the continuous discovery layer that surfaces unsafe algorithms and unmanaged cryptographic assets wherever they hide — giving Vault the visibility it needs to bring everything under unified key and secrets governance.

For Practitioners: Understand how to centralise cryptographic operations and eliminate algorithm sprawl across your application estate.

For Leaders and Advisors: Build a roadmap for crypto agility that survives the quantum transition without a re-architecture programme.

For Emerging Professionals: Gain hands-on exposure to enterprise-grade cryptographic tooling and the governance frameworks that surround it.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Jessica Ang, Sr Soln Architect, HashiCorp-IBM

Jessica Ang brings a decade of cybersecurity experience spanning Prudential Corporation Asia, Accenture, and AWS's Worldwide Public Sector team across APJ, with deep expertise in non-human identity and cloud-native security architecture. She holds 11 professional certifications — including CISSP, CISM, CCSP, and SABSA — plus a Master of Information Systems from NTU. Jessica is currently Senior Solution Architect Specialist at HashiCorp, an IBM company, where she helps enterprises automate security for resilient digital transformation.

Jerome Walter, Field CTO, HashiCorp-IBM

Jerome Walter brings over 22 years in cybersecurity and cloud infrastructure, with CISO and senior security leadership roles at Trust Bank Singapore, Standard Chartered, Prudential Corporation Asia, and Natixis. At Trust Bank, his hands-on approach helped the digital bank reach 800,000 customers within 18 months of launch. He is currently Field CTO at HashiCorp, an IBM company, advising enterprises across Asia-Pacific on securing and scaling their technology platforms.

Khai Wei Ong, Field CTO and Technical Community Leader,IBM

Khai Wei has architected at every layer where crypto agility actually gets tested in production - enterprise blockchain (where he led CxO engagements as IBM's Blockchain Architect), Hybrid Cloud, Kubernetes, and DevOps automation. Most recently he led IBM Client Engineering for ASEAN, the multidisciplinary team that co-creates working solutions with enterprise and public sector clients. He sits at the intersection of IBM's Quantum and Hybrid Cloud portfolios, a vantage point uniquely suited to the migration from RSA/ECC to NIST PQC standards.
