SYNOPSIS
Every business leader agrees: Data is the oil of the 21st century. But how can corporations safely and securely access this oil without causing a devastating spill that not only damages their reputation, but can lead to serious fines that may threaten the very existence of an organisation?
Spoiler alert: The answer does not lie in artificial intelligence, machine learning, one-way hashing functions and tokenization. While these tools can certainly help organisations achieve their goals, effective data management and data governance begins with clear goal setting, an effective operating model and strong controls for the collection, usage and disposal of data.
In this session we will explore the frameworks behind data management and data governance, as well as the roles and responsibilities for business and technology. We will discuss case studies for effective data sharing, and finally dive into technology solutions to make the data management process more efficient.
